We are currently on the lookout for an Operations Engineer to join our team. You will work with our clients as the second tier of the support.

The Primary Responsibilities of the Tier 2 tech will be these:

  • Respond to the customer within the SLA period
  • Triage incoming support requests
  • Validate that all required information has been provided by the customer (Logs, steps to recreate, etc)
  • Resolve issue if possible or Escalate to Tier 3 Support
  • Create Knowledge Base articles

The technologies and services used in the project that will need to be understood:

  • Kibana Logging
  • Apache
  • Kafka
  • Gitlab
  • Filebeat
  • Docker Containers

The Tier 2 tech should have these technical and reasoning skills:

  • Ability to understand and solve complex problems
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to Adapt and learn new technologies
  • Familiarity with technical tooling (ie Postman), standard HTTP protocols, proxying (Charles / Wireshark), JSON / XML syntax
  • Use logical and creative thought processes to develop solutions according to written specifications and/or oral instructions
  • Understanding of Mac iOS / Android / PC operating systems and software or web-based applications
  • Knowledge of common networking protocols (TCP / UDP) and firewall configurations
  • Common Plugins and Browsers

The Tier 2 tech should have these Language and Communication skills:

  • Ability to compose, read, interpret and edit complex documents and correspondence and relate information to stakeholders
  • Communicate positively, professionally, and effectively to all stakeholders, both verbally and in writing
  • Follow detailed written and verbal instructions
  • Accurately proofread numerical and text data
